You can always trade in your DSi XL for a 3DS XL in August. All your old games will still work and you'll be able to play all the new ones as well.
Dec 6, 2011. I would recommend the 3DS over the DSi XL for most children. My four-year-old son loves his 3DS, and with it he can play the latest games.
